What is a storm lighter?

A storm lighter is recognizable by a powerful blue flame. It is a lighter that, due to the filling of special butane, a flammable gas, creates an intensely hot flame of up to 1300 degrees Celsius. The gas is under high pressure and is therefore not easy to blow out. Hence the name storm lighter.

 

How long does a lighter last?

It varies by type and brand. Gas lighters and electric lighters are refillable and have a longer lifespan. Average lighters can be used about 1500-3000 times. 

 

Where do I buy gas for a lighter?

First, you need to know which gas you need. Most lighters use propane, methylpropane, and butane. In our catalog, you will find the perfect gas refill for every lighter and especially for storm lighters! 

 

What is the age to buy a lighter?

Legally, there is no minimum age for the sale of lighters. However, your local store may have its own rules. They can refuse the sale of tobacco-related items such as lighters. There are also no age restrictions online.

 

How long does the shipping take?

Do you place your order with us on working days before 23:00? Then we ship it the same day and your order will be at your home the next day! 

Unfortunately, postal services can experience delays. Once you have received the track and trace, the responsibility lies with the postal services. We regret any form of delay but ask for your patience. If a shipment takes longer than 72 hours, please contact our customer service.

Ordered on Saturday & Sunday? = Delivered on Tuesday. (NL & BE)

Belgium: 1-2 working days

Germany: 2 working days
Austria: A shipment to Austria takes 2-3 working days. 
Other countries: All other countries between 3-10 working days. 

 

Is Visco Lont prohibited?

The purchase, possession, shipping, and receiving of visco fuse is not allowed in the Netherlands. If you bought this fuse and did not know it was illegal, the police urge you to hand it in to avoid further problems. 

 

How much does a lighter cost?

An average BIC lighter starts at €1.89 up to luxury lighter models around €25. The cheapest storm lighter in our webshop is €4.95.

 

How do I adjust the flame of a lighter?

This varies by lighter type. There are basically 2 options for adjusting the flame. Either your lighter has a flat disc that you can push from left (-) to right (+) to adjust the flame. Sometimes there is a circle with a ring at the bottom that you can turn from (-) to (+). 

 

What is a refillable lighter?

These lighters can be refilled with fluid. A refillable lighter can be recognized by a gas valve at the bottom of the lighter. A refillable lighter therefore lasts much longer. 

 

What is a windproof lighter?

A windproof lighter, also called a storm lighter, is a lighter that, due to its powerful butane flame of 1300 degrees, is suitable against strong wind. 

 

How many degrees is a lighter?

The temperature of the flame of a lighter varies depending on the type of gas and lighter. Most lighters have a flame temperature between 1200 and 1300 degrees.

 

Fuse or lighter safer?

When lighting fireworks, always make sure to follow the official instructions for the specific item. A fuse is considered safer because it has no flame, only a glowing tip. 

 

Can I also pick up my order?

Unfortunately, we do not have a physical store where you can pick up orders. Everything is handled by postal services.

 

Can I return my order?

Returns

You have 30 days cooling-off period after receiving your order. Within this period you can register your return with us. After registration, you then have another 14 days to actually send the product back.

Not satisfied with your purchase? Then send an email to info@pyroproducts.nl with the subject Return request, clearly stating the reason for the return and your order number. Note: you must purchase the return label yourself through a postal service of your choice, unless otherwise agreed.

Note: Your return may be refused if it does not meet the conditions.


Return conditions
The following conditions apply to returns:

  • Return the product – if reasonably possible – in the original condition and packaging, including all accessories.

  • Products must not show unnecessary signs of use. If the product is returned damaged or used, a depreciation fee may be charged.

  • After 30 days from receipt, you no longer have the right to return.

*If the product is unnecessarily damaged beyond what is needed to try the product, we may charge you for the depreciation of the product. So please handle the product with care and ensure it is well packaged when returning.

 

Refund after return

After receiving and approving the return shipment, we will refund the purchase amount within 14 working days to your account. If you have not received anything after this period, please contact our customer service.

When products are visibly used, accessories are missing, or the original packaging is absent, we reserve the right to withhold part of the purchase amount.



How long is my reflection period?

After receiving the goods purchased "at a distance," you have a 30-day reflection period. Changed your mind about your purchase? Then return the products (or part of them) within 30 days of receiving your order. For more information, see our Shipping & Returns page.

 

Has my payment/order been successful?

After placing and paying for your order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. You usually receive this within 10 minutes. Haven't received an email within 1 hour? Then contact our customer service.
